Regarding HTTP Error 500
« on: September 30, 2017, 05:20:11 AM »
Just thought, rather than try and discuss this in the shoutbox it would be easier to track this down in the forum.

So this HTTP Error 500 error you're getting on the topic, titled "Moving on from Ionic Wind"

What mods are installed here?
What version of PHP is this site running on?
Any errors in error log?
Any errors on server log?
What changes made to the site since the last reply?

More Spiders    1.2
TinyPortal    1.3
NiceTooltips    1.17

(the rest are all uninstalled wand waiting looking for updates and time to update them)

PHP Version 5.6.31

nothing appearing in error log (about this)

I've run the maint tasks , no errors and nothing to do

server log ? hmm.. haven't looked there
and can't loginto cpanel at the moment to check :(

nothing apart from
running maint tasks
splitting the thread including last readable post in new split
running maint tasks

that's all

at this point in time it looks like the only msg affected by what ever it is

I'm guessing the server log will turn up some clues, once you're able to access it.

i am hoping so.. its htst a matter of finding which post is causing the probs and then finding it in the db an deleting it then running maint again hopefully. i just hope it isn't from an old attack that i / we never noticed at the time

And don't forget that I made a temporary topic and then copied each post, one at a time from your  "split" topic and added it to my temporary topic hoping to find a post that was the bad actor.  Had copied them all over and my temporary topic still worked fine.  So it didn't appear to be any hidden characters in any of the post causing the problem.
I then deleted my temporary test topic.
